Oh my...you know it's bad when Facebook sends you a "I miss you" message! I've been MIA for a week now & it may continue for a few more days. This week has been very exciting!
Here's what's keeping me soooo busy:
Last weekend we had 5 year-old identical twin boys visiting our home (with their parents, too) - it was so much fun to have all that joy and laughter in our house. We had a blast and I miss all of them!
I've been going into school the last few Saturdays, as well as spending every spare minute throughout the school day, working on packing up my office and getting it as "ready as possible" for next school year. Here's a few pics of my progress:
I'm using my Snap Cards to create a visual word wall in my intervention (aka: office) room. It's serving a dual purpose...there are some not-so-1st-grade-friendly words & graphics that were carved into the cabinets circa 1976 :(
I also snagged a "vintage" desk and used chalkboard paint to add a updated look! Now, what should I write? I painted the sides, too!
I can't wait to show you the finished look, but it will have to wait until staff returns (July 22nd!).
Today is my second day of summer and I've already been to the dentist and eye doctor (twice). Next up is my hair, pedi, and oil change. I had big plans to post all the revisions and new products I've created and student-tested this past school year, but I may have to go back into hiding for the next few days...
I just received some BIG news about my presentation this summer. It's been done since Spring Break and I've even practiced it a few times already! Yesterday, I received a preliminary count for the audience...registration is open until June 30th, so the numbers will only go up. As of yesterday, there were well over 100 (yikes!) attendees coming to my session (yay!). The most interesting part though was who they were...over 50 were teachers who worked with middle school-aged students. This definitely works with my topic, but for some reason I was just thinking of K-4. My bad! I'll be spending the next few days tweaking my presentation and materials to reflect the older grades. I gave myself the deadline of this Sunday to put the final touches on it. Then it's time for practice, practice, and more practice!
I'll be back very soon when it's all done!
Have a wonderful week!
Wow - you are a busy bee! Congratulations on your presentation!
