Our students arrive tomorrow!
SO much to still do before they walk through the front doors.
Our school actually starts one week earlier than the city schools (we call it summer school), so Special Education services do not officially start until August 27th. This summer school session (it's supposed to be 2 weeks, but we had a delay due to getting the building ready) is a time to establish expectations and provide character education lessons. Students are only in school until 12:15 pm. After dimissal, the staff stays to debrief and make any changes.
Because our services aren't "officially" logged this week, the special educators support their grade level teams. I will be "floating" from room to room and also be "on call" for minor behavioral support. I love it because I get to meet all 150 first graders (!) by the end of the week, but I also struggle because I've been studying my caseload for-e-ver & itching to get started with instruction. Time's a-wasting!
I look forward to November, when routines are internalized, interventions are in place, and behaviors are (hopefully) calming down :)
In the meantime, here's my most recent To-Do list update!
There's 2 pages to match the 2 versions of The Orderly Teacher packet: black & white and color!
I went ahead and created the label "Orderly Extras" for my blog posts featuring updates. Please check back!
I added the To-Do page to the existing packet.

I use a similar weekly to-do list! I am a list queen! The start of your school year sounds complicated! Hope it all goes well :)
