It's Must-Have Monday!
Thank you to Blog Hoppin' for organizing this incredible linky. I'm sure many of you feel like I do right now (exhausted!) and a linky party that lasts an entire week is just the cure!
So, what MUST a Special Educator have???
I wish my nails looked like that! |
#1 on my list, of course, is CAFFEINE. In any form, preferrably without added sugar, but I can make do. I shudder to think of what my life and career would be like without caffeine.
#2 - Fridays
There's just something about Fridays! It's actually not that great - everyone's tired from the week, it's a long work day, yet...we are all in a terrific mood. The students pick up on the positive vibes & it puts them in a great mood, too! I ♥ Fridays.
I've been meaning to share this TPT treasure for so long! I actually inadvertently already did here:
#3 - Snap Cards
These cards are MAGICAL! I had been eyeing them for a few years but they were out of my price range (although well worth it!). Then I found them on TPT: Snap Words Sight Word Teaching Cards List A. I only wish List B, C, D... Z were available. These cards are so special because one side features the sight word stylized with a picture that references a key phrase. These phrases are not sophisticated by any means, but the students grasp them almost instantly. The other side features the word un-stylized. I had one student LEAP from 11 mastered sight words to over 50 in a matter of 3-4 weeks! Magical :)
I highly recommend them for school or home use for any students struggling with sight words.
Have a wonderful day! See you tomorrow for Technology Tuesday!
Ditto on the caffeine! My coffee consumption is about to go WAY up :)
