I ♥ the Currently linky every month!
I seriously read every single entry! I learn SO much about other bloggers, plus I find out about new "must-haves!"
Thanks to Farley for keeping us on track every month!
LOVING - my new students! They are truly the sweetest! After looping last year's students, I'm feeling challenged as I learn more about my new students' strengths and needs. They are going to help me grow this year :) I also received some very good news this week about my father's health. It was unexpectedly good & I realized I had been practically holding my breath these past few weeks!
THINKING - I think I did it!! The special educators create lesson plans based on the general education lessons. I've always done this in a "week-at-a-glance" format per content area. It was fine, but I found that I NEVER referred to them. As I sat down to do next week's, I tried putting the four major content areas on one page to create a daily lesson plan. Writer's Workshop will occasionally be swapped out for Language Arts, depending on the daily schedule. I think it's going to work!
Old (entire week of literacy plans):
New & Improved (daily LP)
I think the general use of space already makes these plans more accessible (fingers crossed!). Plus, no more flipping pages on my clipboard - it's all on one page now.
FAVORITE THINGS - I finally got the lamination from Sam's Club! I ignored the directions to place the pages in the feeder thing & it still worked just fine! MAJOR savings = less guilt on all the $ I spend on teaching every year!
Thanks for sticking with this LONG post!
Enjoy the holiday!
QUICK (FREEBIE) UPDATE!
If you scroll above to my Daily LP, you can see my math objectives for tomorrow. I have a small group that needs as many hands-on math experiences as possible. Here's a super easy activity I put together in about 5 minutes tops:
I made 10 bags - 5 for my small group to explore tomorrow and 5 more for the following day. Click here to pick up the recording sheet:
Thanks for all the encouraging comments so far,
I really appreciate it!
