Smarties, Snacks, & Sticky Notes (Freebie!)

It's testing week!
This state assessment has NO chance over the Pride of 2024!

Smarties for my smarties!

Yesterday I discovered a mouse had eaten my testing snacks! UGH - I was horrified! I could hear noise coming from my closet and the mouse had chewed through two layers and was INSIDE a bag of animal crackers!! Did I mention I am absolutely terrified of all rodents?

But I'm a quick learner!

And now onto a freebie I'm pretty psyched about!

We are learning retelling strategies in my Level G Guided Reading group. I LOVE the sticky note graphics from Ashley Hughes!  They come in the cutest colors (plus b/w), but I had to "stick" with basic pale yellow because I already have possibly 1000 sticky notes in this color. I'm using this mini-poster and sticky notes (laminated & oversized) to "hook" my students in and then I placed 4 sticky notes within their Guided Reading Books (How Many Rhymes? from Reading A-Z). So far,  they have loved it & used the sentence starters to retell key events from the story. To download your own set, click here. I'd love to hear how you use them with your students!

Back to testing!
Have a super week!

  1. I love the sticky notes! I'm going to have them put the whole sheet in their Reader's Notebook and hang the individual ones on the wall. Sorry to hear about the rodents-no matter how small, they are all rats! :(
