The Craftivity Pledge

Next school year, I'm DEFINITELY...

How many times have you said that??

I ♥ the theme of this linky party!

BTW, if you did go ahead and click on the link, you'll notice it was from May and is now closed. So I'm not actually linking up, but still wanted to tag along!

 it MIGHT happen this year!

Yup, I've totally got this one!

5 digits is TOO many, I know! :(

hahahahaha...

Another BIG goal for next year is showcasing my students' work. My students often have their work displayed within their classroom, but they also work SO hard during my reading intervention group, small groups, etc. I would love to have them feel proud of their work while walking through the halls.

I'm publicly pledging to start (& finish) a craftivity.

I've never done a "craftivity" before because we honestly don't have time! Every teaching  moment is so, so precious and even with maximizing breakfast and snacktime, I don't seem to accomplish everything. Still, I really want my students to be represented and I just happen to have a huge open bulletin board outside my office. To make this all happen, I'm going to need to be uber-organized.

The first thing I did was search craftivities on TPT and blogs...I found so many cute ones! Many were freebies to try out, plus I purchased Spelling for All Seasons by Babbling Abby (both sets). Next, I created this:

Do you see yours on there? If so, thank you!  I don't plan on doing all of those, of course, but I WILL  tackle some. Our school asks us to switch out the BBs every 3-4 weeks and we have to post the objective. The boxes above that just have one word, i.e.: "shamrocks," comes from Babbling Abby's kit. She intended them to be used with the provided spelling work, but I may also sneak in math and comprehension work!

If you have a craftivity, or anything else I may be able to use with my firsties, please feel free to leave a link in the comments! Thanks!

And as I was typing this, I heard a knock on the door and...

it's FINALLY here!!!
I though maybe it was lost, or I had just dreamed that I ordered it. I got such an amazing deal, I'm sure it's well worth the wait! Now I have to figure what to do with it - I have NO idea! Gotta run!

Enjoy your Monday!

  1. It can be so hard to balance school and life! But so important at the same time! Let me know how you like the Silhouette. I am definitely thinking of getting one!

  2. Being motivated to join the linky even after it closed looks like a good sign for getting motivated next year to me!

Love the Silhouette! Can't wait to see how you use it!

I have a free craftivity for Valentine's Day if you are interested: http://thepolishedteacher.blogspot.com/2013/01/shopping-sunday-turned-manicmonday-made.html

  3. I love your idea of finding craftivities for the whole year! I think I may have to borrow that idea for my planning binder.

    Thanks,
