An Army of Rhymes - Freebie!

Good Monday Morning!

I just returned from a fantastic weekend away!
I'm taking a quick break from unpacking and repacking my materials for the work week and I wanted to share a quick & EASY activity I've been meaning to do for years!

Awhile back, I attended a fabulous vocabulary workshop that featured a "Hink Pink" activity using those little army figurine men. It's a simple matching activity, like Memory or Concentration, but of course the addition of toys (!!) make the activity so engaging. I also liked the idea because many of my students have OT goals and picking up slippery laminated cards is not always as easy as it seems. These three-dimensional figures make playing the game and focusing on the content a breeze!

Then...I realized finding appropriate army men is NOT a simple matter of stopping at Dollar Tree. I have seen bags and bags of those little green guys, but they are not doing school-age appropriate things. I've seen numerous weapons that I just don't feel comfortable using with my firsties.
So I had almost forgotten about it until...

I inherited (free!) two bags of these! I had to toss a few of the blue guys for holding "protective tools," but still managed to save more than 30 matching pairs! I quickly created this freebie to provide a refresher on rhyming CVC words:

Super fast and easy, and FREE - click here to download a copy.

I'm already thinking about other types of "matches" I could create...matching sums, homophones, synonyms, upper/lowercase... the possibilities are endless!
