Happy Manic Monday!
A page of number sentences came with the general education lesson plans, but they were too small to cover with sticky notes and my small group needed much more (4 times more) practice!
I'm using sticky notes to cover either the "part" or the "whole."
Do you also sing the song "a part and a part makes a whole..." with your students? The tune is to Farmer in the Dell and can easily be reversed for decomposing: "a whole is a part and a part..." My little ones have to point on their number bonds and/or number sentences while they sing. It's so catchy that it will drive you a little crazy, however I do hear my friends singing it while working independently! Yay!
