Happy Thanksgiving & Happy Hanukah!
If you are up this early, you also probably just put Tom in the oven. We have a quiet holiday here...just the two of us and the 20 pound turkey I bought. Yup, Tom is 20 pounds. Don't ask me what I was thinking...because I clearly wasn't. Pictures to follow!
Anyway, if you know of any wonderful turkey recipes
that freeze well, be sure to pass them my way ;)
I'm not sure if it's the season or I'm just getting older, but there is not a day that goes by that I don't reflect on how incredibly lucky I am to do what I love everyday ♥
Please skip this next part if you don't want to read my uncharacteristically sappy post.
I'm thankful to teach in a school that values every student and their family. We just had two big IEP meetings this week and the entire team supported these students (back to back meetings for a pair of twins!). Everything proposed was accepted and these children will get what they need to thrive and grow into successful members of the community. The results of these meetings are typical at the school I work at and I'm just incredibly thankful to be a part of it. I teach inner city and sadly, I know there are many students who may not be getting what they need or special educators who are struggling to provide what's best for the children. When the going gets tough (like the week before a holiday - whew!), I remind myself of this humbling position
I'm in to really make a difference.
I also feel incredibly thankful for my support system both at home and school. People around me let me work like a crazy person because they know I'll be grouchy if I don't! My friends and family also let me go on and on as I brag about my firsties, although they probably have no idea what I'm talking about :)
I'm also so thankful for the blogging community! Generous bloggers have inspired me and shared numerous activities that I've been able to use with my own students. It amazes me how supportive the community is and how very dedicated and talented you all are! Please know that my students really benefit from all that you share so generously!
Alrighty, sappiness is over. Back to business!
I just put 7 Autumn and Thanksgiving items on sale for 50% off at my store! These items will be on sale through Friday!
And if you're ready to move on...here's a festive freebie:
Have a wonderful holiday :)
