Our Elf Taught Us About RAK!

Happy Monday!
I feel so incredibly thankful for being a part of this teacher blogging community...without all of you generously sharing all your wonderful ideas, it would probably never have crossed my mind to introduce RAK to my firsties.
Actually, I didn't...our elf, Justin Bieber, did.

This is what my students walked into this morning:

Justin was sitting in a little basket holding the "You've Been RAK-ed! Pass It On!" notes and he had spelled out RAK using pom-poms. We took a few guesses at what "RAK" stood for...Rice and Kittens, Ravens (we live in Baltimore) and "Kandy Kanes." Then we read the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and talked about Random Acts of Kindness.

Here's a closer look at the notes:

Every student received 2 notes featuring acts of kindness ("Smile at someone feeling sad," "Thank a helper around the school") and then 2 "You've Been RAK-ed!" notes to leave. Imagine if they all follow through...and the recipients pass it on. The whole school could be RAK-ed by the end of the week! My students were much more excited than I was expecting and that makes me a very thankful teacher :)

My RAK-Pack is a forever freebie at my store - it can be used all year 'round!

UPDATE: I was just asked by several staff members about these red notes their students were handing them. You may want to send out an explanatory email ahead of time :)

Have a wonderful week!
