Atta Girl!

Would this behavior chart motivate you to stay on task?
Please say "yes!".

The  fact that I'm up at 4:30 am (on a Saturday!) creating customized behavior charts for my students,  speaks volumes of my past week at school.

I do think a particular student is going to be SO excited about this chart! Her name and date is also included at the top in a "traceable" font (called Primer Apples) She has fine motor skills objectives, so this chart will serve double-duty.

Our school uses Work Hard, Be Nice, and Be Safe in our daily language/code of conduct and students have learned the components of each. For example, "Be Safe" includes staying in our assigned areas, keeping hands and feet safe, etc. Our school also uses the color system, but some of our students benefit from an additional visual reinforcement. This particular student is also working on social skills and will have an assigned peer who will personally celebrate her successes as she achieves her goals (& colors the Hello Kitty pictures!).

Here's another behavior chart one of my students is using:

At this time, this student benefits from more frequent reminders (half-hour) and earns stickers as he demonstrates these behaviors (with 3 reminders or less) and the earned stickers are tied to specific rewards (being a helper, water break, etc.). This chart has gone through many (positive) transformations as he has mastered previous social behavior goals :)  It may look cumbersome, but he has "grown into it" and also has an 1:1 assistant who helps manage it.

What type of behavior monitoring/reinforcement do you use in your classroom and how do you manage it?
