"Man Day!"

The school I work at celebrates "Man Day!" Actually, it was extended this year & turned into "Man Week." Close to one hundred men generously volunteered their time to visit our students!! They read stories, answered questions about their careers, and talked about going to college. One of our amazing teachers organized the entire event - I don't know how she did it, but I'm so thankful she did!Unfortunately, many of our students don't have a positive male influence in their lives. Going to college is almost unheard of in the surrounding neighborhoods - but our school is determined to change that :)

My husband volunteered on Field Day - here he is with kindergarteners playing soccer.

 

It was SO cute - the majority of them had NEVER played before! Mr. D was quite the trooper!
