Summer Book Club Linky

I love, love, LOVE to read!

I easily could read a book a day. My entire family is the same way - every holiday/birthday, my parents gave me a "book set" and it was my favorite gift.  If only I could figure out  how to be paid full-time for reading :)

I'll read anything...fiction, biographies, self-help, poetry, US Weekly, you-name-it. So I knew I just had to join Jessica's (of Mrs. Stanford's Class) first linky party: "Good Reads!"

My list of books to read is beyond Blogger's character-count (...I really don't know if they actually track that), so I had to prioritize. I already own all of these & they are patiently waiting on my dresser...

...because I have many of these that are already overdue :( We discussed this at a PD last summer & I had the opportunity to "show what I've learned" a few times this past year. I have to say these strategies work wonders! My supervisor happens to be an expert at this skill & she read this book, so I know it's a must-read!

... I've already read this & own 2 copies - one was given to me for a PD & one copy I keep for writing/highlighting in - it's THAT useful! I cannot speak highly enough of this book! It comes with a DVD to see all the awesomeness in action :)

& my ALL-TIME Favorite RE-read

Word Hard, Be Nice... for anyone who knows me personally, this should not be a shocker! I reread this book whenever I need a pick-me-up for when I'm feeling disillusioned or just extra tired. It's my favorite book of ALL time!!! I've had to repurchase this book several times because I'm constantly giving away my own copy! I'm so thankful for Dave Levin & Michael Feinberg for creating an inspiring model I'm grateful to be a part of, (& personal highlight - I received a "high 5" from Mike at a national conference last summer! Woo-hoo! I'm sure he doesn't remember it, but I'll never forget it!).

&  if I happen to have any extra time this summer for guilty pleasures, I can't help but be intrigued by this:

  1. I have been looking for some great books to read this summer! Thanks for sharing. I think I need to go pick up all three of those education books now. If it wasn't for grad school I'd have more time to read, but I am still making time.

  2. Unfortunately I have 3 classes this summer, but I almost done! These are my last 3 before beginning the "lab" section which is completing my portfolio. I'm definitely going to pick up Teach Like a Champion today!
