This little blog turns 1 today!!!
I have to admit, I really had my doubts...more than a few times along the way...I'm not a huge fan of publicly sharing, but I heard it gets easier & I'm happy to report that it does! This blog has even turned therapeutic for me as I have a chance to write about my students & hear about others' teaching adventures. Now I couldn't imagine my life without it (pretty heavy, huh?!).
Thank you to my followers who leave comments I've been negligent responding to (besides a lot of head nodding, which you can't see - I promise to get better!). If it weren't for you, I would definitely have thrown in the towel a long time ago!!
This year, I 've learned about linky parties, blog buttons, clip art terms of use, pinterest, giveaways, and more. I also became a contributor to Classroom Freebies Too, and now Classroom Freebies ♥
I'm so excited to see what this next year brings!
How do you celebrate special days in your classroom? I teach inclusion in two first grade classrooms, but I'm also hopping in & out of the four other first grade rooms, plus seeing my former students in the halls, at arrival, etc.. I easily receive 100 hello hugs before 8:00 am and issue possibly more teacher looks every single school day. I hear about birthdays, pets, new siblings, & so much more I really shouldn't be hearing!
It gets a little tricky remembering birthdays, so I have resorted to pre-printing, laminating, and keeping these cards in my office:
Celebration graphics & frames from KPM
Font from Jessica Stanford
There's six per page featuring birthday messages and other positive notes. I print out 2-3 of each at the beginning of the year & then restock when needed. The top loop on KPM's adorable doodle frames lends itself to a quick hole-punch & you can thread a ribbon to turn it into a necklace! Wearing things around the neck tend to get distracting with my friends, so sometimes I skip that step :)

Thanks again for being here - I appreciate you!
Year One - in the books!!
Thank you Jennifer, these special occasion cards will come in very handy. I love all the colors...but who doesn't love colors?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a milestone! Glad to know it gets easier and thanks for the freebie.

Finally in First
Congratulations but I couldn't download it without buying a day pass for $9 from Premium Reader. Is that typical of your downloads?
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you! I just went back and updated the link so it will open in Google docs. I don't know why Scribd is doing that...they were definitely free when I first uploaded! I'm slowly switching them over to google to avoid any more trouble. Thanks so much for letting me know!
ReplyDeleteJust pinned your freebie and added you to my Pinteresting Teacher Blogs! I taught firsties for almost 30 years and loved it immensely. However, I'm not a rabbit and I KNOW I couldn't do what you do "hopping around" from classroom to classroom. AMAZING! Thanks for sharing...
