Five for Friday!

It's time for Five for Friday (a.k.a. thank goodness for linky parties!) hosted by Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching.

I'm really going to have to reach here...

5. Guided Reading SUCCESS!!!

Check out the growth from my Power Hour:

Pretty exciting!! I will be posting more on this over the weekend! I've been working on a HUGE Guided Reading project & would ♥ to share it with you very soon!

4. Running...yes, I'm obsessed. I've incorporated running in my morning workout for the last month now & still lovin' it!
Check out this running skirt from Athleta:

Seriously comfy! I picked up FOUR of them!

3. This is how I've spent the last 2 weeks:

BOO! I had to actually take a day off work to go to the doctors :(
I'm glad to report that my ear is finally back to normal and I can hear again!

2.  This week we learned about "shwa" :

My small group worked on reading words with "shwa" with a cut & paste activity. It went well, but I remain unconvinced that they grasped the "shwa" concept. I'm going to be researching this more over the weekend...please post if you have a product or activity that will help us! Thanks!

1. Two words: Flip. Flops

5 more school days 'til the beach!!!

Have a super Friday!

  2. I think the 'schwa' is so hard to teach. It's my least favorite phonics skill to teach, closely followed by Long U. LOL! Can't wait to hear about your guided reading. That's awesome success!
