I had a very interesting surprise upon returning from Spring Break...one of the WALLS in the reading intervention room was missing. Completely gone.
Here's how Monday went...
Student: "Something's different." "What happened?" "Where did my name go?" (the Guided Reading rotation board used to be on the wall). "Why did they take out the wall?"
Teacher: "hmm..I'm looking for a quiet hand...what do you notice different about this room?" "What do you think happened?" (that brought some really creative responses!).
Sadly, the knocked-down wall has left us with a view of sawdust & plaster, ominous-looking tools, and a broken toilet :(
I found all my Guided Reading materials in a pile & they look like they should be put to rest in a trash can. This week I'm quickly replacing some of our favorites (& giving them a fun makeover!):
Previously I had the title written on a sentence strip & the letters were black & white on zebra print. The letters can be cut out or left together on the page. Click here to see my old (& now retired) Guided Reading materials. I'm working on a new look for my Guided Reading groups - stay tuned!! They are in the "student-testing" phase right now :)
Please click here to pick up this freebie. It also includes an instruction page on how I use it with my students!
And here's a little ♥ from yesterday!

The sunglasses were a part of spirit week (because our future is so bright!) & the shirt did not disappoint!! |
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
