Guided Reading Freebies, Brain Wrinkles, & a Sale!

Happy Sunday!

 

It's been a rainy weekend here with cool temperatures and cloudy skies. PERFECT for staying in pajamas, lesson planning, and cooking! While I will always prefer sunshine and the beach, this has been a nice change of pace :)

 

This week, I had so much fun doing a couple random acts of kindness in a fall fun fashion. This was for Customer Service Appreciation Week at my husband's office:

 

 

I used Loreen Leedy's cute chalkboard apples to create thank you notes and stapled them to apple cider packets. I included apples and caramels for the rest of the staff. SO quick and easy!

 

I also wanted to thank the first grade team and school support staff for preparing the past few weeks for a Special Education Compliance audit. I arrived first at school and set this up anonymously:

 

 

 

Those were PUMPKIN chocolate-chip cookies. It took every ounce of my willpower to not have one!

 

We also finished the first week of Power Hour and it was a huge success!! We established and practiced routines over and over...an ounce of prevention, right? The third day we reviewed how to work independently at our centers using materials. My students completed this simple writing prompt while we focused on procedures:

 

That cutie brain pic is one of my all-time fave graphics...I refer to it all the time with my firsties and they always giggle! It comes in color and b/w from Doodle Darlin'. I ♥ the whole set!
