Sight Word Sale & Freebie!

Happy Sunday!

Hope you're having a fantastic weekend!

It was beautiful here yesterday and we are supposed to repeat it today. We're going to the O's game with friends this afternoon...can't wait!

But first, I wanted to share a freebie...and I'd ♥ some feedback!

I've mentioned before that I offer a differentiated homework packet for our first grade team. Every student receives a hefty packet on Mondays to work on throughout the week. The cover page is a behavior/reading log and there's usually 3-4 pages per night.  Teachers have the discretion to offer this alternative differentiated packet to students who may be struggling with motivation and/or not receiving homework support at home.

One thing that is non-negotiable in all of the homework packets is our weekly high frequency words, a.k.a. "sight words." Our students learn 200 per school year! That means my first graders are responsible for Fry Words 201-400! It is not up for discussion, so we tackle it head on.

I've been making these weekly packets for a few years now and every year I change them to meet my students' needs. I print off one master copy per first grade teacher and they copy as many as they need. I usually like to do a few weeks in advance and this year I'm working on getting ahead as much as possible.

I've been working on creating a file featuring all the weekly sight word practice. The first 5 pages are in every students' packets and the the last 3 pages I added for extra practice in the differentiated packet.

Here's a  (freebie) sample from Week 28:

These are flashcards to cut out and paste to index cards.

The above pages are the "non-negotiables" for every first grader.

I'm choosing one of the 2 next pages
for each individual sight word every week:

Here's a page from my Speedy Sight Word Activity Pack
(I gave it a little makeover to match the homework):

What do you think? Do the directions seem clear? Especially on the last three pages...I'm not at liberty to change the first five. My next step is to go through all of my sight word products and tweak graphics and fonts to help create a more uniform look.

In the meantime, if it has to do with sight words...it's on sale at my store through June 30th! All sight word products are 20%, including:

(also available in two smaller packets)

There are several themed sight word "Blast" games, including
Superhero Sight Word Blast! for only $1.20:

There are also a couple holiday sight word packets:
