Happy Book Talk Tuesday!
I'm linking up with the Mrs. Jump's Class for one of my all-time favorite linky parties. Thank you Deanna for hosting :)
For this Book Talk post, I wanted to share a little problem we encountered recently:
Background Information
I'm pulling a small group using Leveled Literacy Instruction. This is a group of firsties reading at Level B (below grade level).
We'll be meeting for approximately 30 minutes
Guided Reading-style every morning.
Problem
I also provide special education services to two precious little boys during this same literacy block. They are supported with one-on-one assistants (for behavior and academics). This terrific duo read at level D+, yet have specific needs in the area of comprehension. My Guided Reading intervention group would not be meeting their needs appropriately.
Solution
Enter the most wonderful resource ever :)
Holy. Moly.
This is a SUPER-sized TPT Treasure
This bundle saved my close reading life!
My students, one-on-ones, and I kicked it off with the all-time fave Chrysthanemum. We listened to the story being read aloud on youtube and then we explored the book for our "Cold Read." Today we will get a bit warmer by reading the book again and exploring vocabulary.
If you love Kevin Henkes as much as my students and I do, please check out this post and pick up some freebies!
Have a terrific Tuesday!
