Happy April!
Thank you Farley for hosting the party!
LISTENING:
G.D.F.R. - please don't judge ;)
LOVING:
That our 1st day of Spring Break is FRIDAY!
THINKING:
I really want to sign up the Mr. for sessions at #TPTVEGAS15
There's just so many I want to go to!
WANTING:
To sign up for Get Your Pretty On's Spring Challenge!
Want to join me? Learn more & sign up here.
This will be my 5th challenge and I ♥ them!
Here's a link to my past posts to learn more.
NEEDING:
Spring Cleaning in my intervention room will start with a visit to IKEA! I get all of my storage containers/lids there. As anyone been there recently? Any must-haves I should check out
(besides the free coffee!)?
EGGS-Plain Your Name:
Positively Learning and Learning Positively are interchangeable...I'm a BIG believe in the joy-factor, but I also need to make sure ("be positive") that my students are learning - so there's usually at least one assessment included in everything I do!
I can't wait to read how everyone chose their name!
I'm also linking up with The Primary Gal for:
"TDL" is designated Teacher Development Leader planning time to mentor and/or conduct observations. Intervention refers to my pull-out resource time for specific IEP goals. 3rd is my reading intervention group with my 3rd graders. Salisbury is the name of the classroom I support for approximately one hour per day (two students with IEP goals and objectives in the classroom). All the red is what would resemble "classroom teaching" in one inclusion classroom with my students who have the most hours of service. It's a busy day with lots of extra pockets of intervention tucked in wherever I can!
This year, classroom/special educators do not have to be responsible for lunch/recess duty. I also have at least one planning session per day! However, I have meetings scheduled almost every day at lunch and/or planning, so I average only 2-3 per week (usually spent making copies and using the restroom!). Our students leave earlier on Fridays (out the door by 2:30)
and we have team meetings until 4:30.
I sit down at my desk by 6:30 and have my first meeting at 7:30 (7:00 on Tuesdays). I'm usually the first to arrive/first to leave and get home by 5:15 pm. I love my students and school, but sometimes daydream about getting out at 3:30!

We are sharing our schedules to see how everyone fits it all in. I'm fascinated with this topic because even though I have an extended school day, we still don't get everything done. I see creative teachers all over the blog & I just know there must be a better way :)
If you can spot it in my schedule, please let me know!

Thanks for reading! Jen
Hi Jen! I have never heard of GYPO. That sounds so interesting - I'm intrigued and may consider it. I like what I have seen so far. I also love shopping at IKEA. They have so many fun and affordable things for the classroom. It is a commitment to go and shop there though! Enjoy your upcoming spring break. Yeah!

I am heading over to sign up! I LOVE it! I have an IKEA trip planned as well. I'm sad they don't sell my beloved Expedit shelf anymore- I wanted to turn them into window benches. I need more bookshelves in my classroom so I am going to look for something there. Have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! I found you through Farley's link. I am curious about several things in your schedule. What is Salisbury? What is Power Hour? I share your frustration about meetings taking up too much time! I think most of the information could be sent in an email, instead of taking up planning time. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!Carol's Teaching Garden
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of the extended school day!! I'm always saying that there are never enough hours in the day!! Thanks for linking up with us!!
