Throwback Thursday: Sight Word Freebie!

Happy 4th!
I just got finished downloading the 42 freebies from the humongous FB Party...start here to follow along & grab all of yours! Through the linky, I found many resources from my favorite sellers, plus I discovered a new-to-me TPT store The Printable Princess. How did I not know about her already?
It's also time to link up with the fabulous Cara Carroll for:
My throwback is a piggyback of someone else's throwback...does that make any sense? Last week, I followed the linky and read about this FANTASTIC idea over at What The Teacher Wants. After reading the post all about sight words, I immediately hopped over to this post from Growing Kinders (♥ her!) and downloaded the adorable sight word chants.
I'm hoping you've been following along & clicking all the links so you know what I'm talking about still :)
I printed the labels and was SO excited about creating sight word sticks with my endless supply of jumbo popsicle sticks (last summer craft mistake). THEN, I remembered, I can't cut straight and I gave up after cutting ALL of the chants and gluing 4:
those purple paper scraps are EVERYWHERE!
At this same time, I saw these fun chevron (FREE) labels from Autumn Proctor Zaminski (thank you!). I sorted through the chants...deleting & adding some more...and came up with this:
Download your set of sight word chevron labels (blank template included) here! The tumbler is from Target with wasabi tape along the rim.
Here's another look at the freebie:
There's 32 chants, 12 blanks, & 3 labels for storage.
If the above Google.docs link doesn't open, they are also available at my store here (with a cutie product cover!)
Have a wonderful holiday!

  1. What a great idea! I'm going to do the same!! Thank you. My principal allowed us to paint our doors with chalkboard paint so I made a big square with a cute border. Each week I write the password on it and erase it at the end of the week. Works well.
