Sweet Summer

Still have 17 school days to go!
My students have exactly 2 months off for summer. I've already mentioned this, but I'm just blown away by the progress my students have been making recently. It seems like they are going through a huge growth spurt since spring break. I'm not sure what's going on...but I like it!

So although I have a countdown for summer break to get my personal life back on track, it's bittersweet to let these little guys go for the summer! Research already shows what will most likely occur during the time off of school - ugh! :(

At my school, we offer homework summer packets by request (to save paper). Since I have a caseload of students, rather than a class, I go ahead and make a summer packet for every student. I run copies double-sided on colorful paper and add extra materials (flashcards, matching card games,
puzzles, etc.). I present it as a "gift" to my students & they love it (or at least, they seem excited!)!

I have 2 sets of summer packets for my students...bug-themed for my strugglers & "sweet treats" for students on-level. Some students will receive a mix & match of both!

UPDATE 5/26 - I uploaded a 3rd packet of activity pages - Summer Splash Summer Packet. This packet is designed for the students who were consistently on-level throughout 1st grade.

Here's 2 free pages from the Sweet Treats summer theme - these 2 activity pages are in addition to the 20 activity pages in the packet. Enjoy!
