Camera Roll (Full of Freebies!)

Happy Sunday!

Thank you to all the wonderful friends out there who left sweet comments on my Solve the Room Addition flash freebie! I really appreciate it! BTW, I "boosted" a facebook post featuring the freebie, so it will remain free until the boost is over...maybe 2-3 more hours?

I spent this morning cleaning off my camera roll and found so many snapshots of fun learning (& more)! Check it out:

I tried out Readers Theater for the first time with my intervention group. It was AWESOME & I can't wait to do it again. In case you missed it, click here to download the freebie!

We also met our decoding strategy buddies (the long winter months are a GREAT time to bring them out!):

My reading groups didn't have all the fun though, we also rocked our holiday independent math stations!

Those little hearts are from Michael's, SO cute but a little loud for my students who tend to drop things a million or two times. My go-to math manipulative remains colorful pom-poms!

As every teacher I know, I was eyeing the weather all last week. Luckily I handed out these cute treats two days early:

I'm sure everyone saw these adorable cards from What the Teacher Wants (♥). My co-teacher handed out the crazy straw cards - so, so cute!

We had two snow days last week & I took advantage of the time to start organizing my "old" teaching supplies. Look what I dug out and revamped for my firsties:

These cards were from my "pre-TPT" days (how did I ever survive)? They are from Kelly's Kindergarten - an awesome site that seems to remain online, but is no longer updated. Does anyone know if she's on TPT? I'd love to find her!

A few years ago, I must have printed out several dozen pages of the editable sight word cards. Then I threw them in a box in my basement and forgot about them :(  This past week I sorted them out and created a class set of colorful sight word rings. The characters are engaging...Spiderman, Sponge Bob, Dora, Scooby, etc. These will be perfect for my fast finishers!

January/February were huge testing months & I am only now recovering from administering all the individual tests and analyzing all the data. I can't even discuss all that came out of it, but I did want to share how WONDERFUL our 1st/2nd grade Spanish teacher is:

She and I brainstormed the standards together to accurately assess the students I work with using appropriate accommodations (& not modifications). I snapped this photo of the end result...a performance task with color-coded sentence cards. She is a special educator at ♥ and I am so appreciative!

Valentine's Day came and went in my house without much hoopla. Last year I received this (check out #5), so this year was a bit low-key :) We had a nice dinner and a few treats, then celebrated with friends Saturday night.

Those cutie Valentine's Day cards are from Blair Turner!

I wanted to wrap this post up with a quote I love
and have been reflecting on a lot recently:
