What I Wore: Confession!

The shopping list has been released and the first outfit arrives Sunday night! The shopping list was everything I hoped for...

many items already in my closet and just a few new items to update for the season. There's a rumor that almost 1000 people have joined - I can't wait to see everyone's outfits!

Here's my confession...every Monday, the staff at my school has to wear the school uniform. Our school leader feels strongly that we are showing an united front - team & family. I totally agree with this, except I simply look horrendous in this uniform. 

It's a polo top (light blue or pale yellow) and khakis. I have to wear a Youth Boys Large for the top, which is not exactly flattering. The khakis also give me a headache - I've been searching literally for years and have purchased 6+ pairs and still haven't found a pair that looks good. Any suggestions? The typical khakis (Gap, Old Navy, J Crew) get wrinkly and stretch throughout the day. I tried stepping it up with nicer tan pants from Ann Taylor Loft, but they also "grew" and got sloppy after a couple hours. One year I found a super cute pair of Gap corduroy boot-cut pants. I wore them every single Monday and they wore out in the most inconvenient spot :(

So instead of getting to try out Get Your Pretty On's outfits suggestions on Mondays, you can find me trying to hide the fact that I'm wearing a school uniform. Here's what I'm working with:

I hope you're enjoying the 1st week of October! We've been diving into math and having fun with our math manipulatives and themed learning activities. Here's a glimpse at my

The materials are aligned with what all of our first graders are working on in the general education curriculum. I'm also using them for my math intervention groups - especially the "flip flop" addition facts and number bond math mats. Don't forget to add the mini erasers from Target's Dollar Spot!
