Happy 5 for Friday!
Thank you Kacey for hosting every week :)
I'm not sure if I actually have 5 things to share, but I'll try...
Addition with 3 Addends
My students are doing really well with solving addition number sentences by finding ten first. I feel they need extra practice though than what we did during instruction, so I quickly put together a math mat that I could insert into a plastic sleeve:

My giveaway ends today at 5 pm! I'm so excited about using these cards for a quick checks for understanding. I also use the math half-pages for my students' math journals (easier to differentiate!) Don't worry if your school doesn't use NWEA. Both sets are aligned with Common Core. Please click here to read more and enter.
It was a short, but busy week of learning. Because we only had three days, I decided it was a great time to be a bit more adventurous with our weekly rotating sensory box:
Any guess to what our book was this week?!?
I'm busy prepping for Thanksgiving and Christmas for my firsties. It will all be here before we know it! Will there be an elf visiting your home or classroom soon? My weekend to-do list includes printing this freebie packet!
Next, I'm VERY excited about joining these fun and fabulous fashion bloggers (see below) for a new series of posts.
Today's the inaugural post, but...there's no way I'm showing my closet online. No one needs to see that! It's actually clean and organized, but that may not be noticeable to strangers. I live in the city and closet space (as well as parking spots) are at a premium. It's sad that I had a better closet at age 10, 20, 30...than I do now! Having so little space does require me to be extremely organized. Which brings me to this:
Yes, I actually made a card for each outfit from Alison's challenges. They are on a book ring so I can spread them out if I'm packing or planning ahead. Most have notes written on them with additional color choices or ideas. I just finished my fourth challenge, so there's A LOT of cards (which means there's tons of cute outfit choices).
I said I wouldn't do it...but I did go ahead and sign up for the "Basics" challenge (shopping list released today!). Did anyone else? I feel like I've got the basics down, but the preview outfits were SO adorable. So why not? I will add more cards to my collection while I prepare for the winter holiday challenge!
UPDATE: I just received the list! I owned almost everything on it from previous challenges and I'm so excited to see some of my very favorite pieces! Stay tuned!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to organize the outfits!
ReplyDeleteI love your idea for outfit organization. I was very glad to see that I had pieces that will work for the whole basics challenge. It will be fun to see how to mix and match them and get more use out of items already in my wardrobe.
