Happy Monday!
I hope you have a fantastic week!
It will be busy here...we have a wonderful week of learning and looking forward to Valentine's Day, I'm starting an evening class this Thursday, and I'm prepping for a professional development on Guided Reading.
I almost decided to give up coffee (again) this week, but then I thought better of it. Perhaps that will be my goal for after Spring Break.
Our school is sharpening up our approach to Guided Reading and "norming" around some new strategies and guidelines. This is all good news to me, as I ♥ teaching Guided Reading!
I'm offering a presentation on Word-Solving Strategies. I'm really excited about this and have been fine-tuning an implementation guide for learning and applying decoding strategies. A fun challenge I'm looking forward to is how to make learning tools accessible from Grades K through 2nd (and beyond, if there's still a need for decoding). That's a challenge I happily accept!
I've already started updating my Guided Reading Decoding Bundle,
plus adding new tools:
If you have already purchased this bundle, thank you so much!
Please check back for the "newly revised" flashing button to download any updates.
One big change on the horizon...I've been busy switching over all the graphics for those cute decoding animals. As I update and add, I'll be keeping BOTH the old graphics and the new (just in case you've already printed and laminated!).
Please note: I currently offer the Assign Yourself: Decoding Strategies Booklets and Guided Reading Goals Vision Board as a discounted bundle. Since the bundle will be receiving many new additions, it will also most likely increase in price after next weekend. Any purchases between now and February 16 (I hope!), will be a HUGE discount over the final bundle.
I'll be sharing more soon, but in the meantime...is there anything you really "need" to be included for Guided Reading? Please let me know!
Thanks for reading and have a fantastic week!

You are a wealth of knowledge on the subject! I was wondering if you ever thought about making a strategies product for middle school? They're just bigger kids with similar problems...

Hi Lisa! You are absolutely right! I'm working with a group of 3rd graders needing support with phonemic awareness and phonics. My first year was in kindergarten and it's amazing how often I reach back for those materials even with my older groups. I'm working on my GR presentation right now and thinking about how to reach those higher grades. Thank you very much for your kind comment! Jen :)
